Been even longer this time...

Well... I stopped posting regularly when a friend told me that my posts made him depressed. So I kinda let it slide. I don't suppose that this will qualify as a cheery post either. I wonder how many of you on my friends list are still here?
Yeah...that's a shout to see who is still here.
This has been a rough year. Money has been perpetually short as I try to support myself and Pablo. Right now there are just the four of us living together. William and Pablo; my partners and Sean. We've had a hell of a time hanging on to housemates this year. A variety of issues have caused this from wanderlust to interpersonal issues.
We have my friend Chris Spicer joining us this week and hopefully he'll be employed quickly and contributing to the house.
I earned a promotion this year at Advance Auto Parts and am now back into management. It's allowed me to cut hours at Staples which is my second job. Yay for 60+ hour work weeks.
The car has continued to be a challenge. I paid it off last fall and have to deal with a bad engine / transmission control module. A replacement one will be about $350 installed and reprogrammed. I just can't seem to get far enough ahead to actually pay to have it done. I also have registration renewal due and a traffic ticket. >.<
Yum Yum passed away in May and since she was my moms' . she represented a tangible link to her memory. Hit me kinda hard. I ended up burying her on the edge of a field in a conservation area that wouldn't be disturbed. I ended up planting a lilac bush to mark the location as it was moms' favorite bush / scent. A nice memorial.
My health has been up and down too. Currently laid up in Ellis Hospital because my foot became infected. Apparently it may have been going on for a while underneath a callous. A blood blister that formed and popped lead to the discovery.
So here I lay today to learn my fate. Antibiotics and home care / follow up, Or do I get a foot amputated? It'll be tomorrow before I have any real idea and in the mean time we all worry. No work means no money unless I tick over into disability. Contact the lawyer and go back after more cash from insurance for workers comp. Possible, but not an instant solution.
So I survive.... and for now I wait. I'll try to keep this up to date better than I have.

Date: 2014-12-11 02:38 pm (UTC)Please take care of that foot... the brother of a friend lost his foot recently to an infection (but he wasn't taking good care of it)!

Date: 2014-12-30 05:03 am (UTC)The foot is doing ok I think (hope). I'll get to see a doctor once insurance kicks in on the New Year. There is an overall area of 5 sq. inches or so that is a thick pad of dead skin with the 'hole' caused by the ulcer off to one side.
This all has to dry and flake away to completely heal the foot. Until then the foot leaks plasma and blood all day long as I walk through my work days.
>joy<
It's indeed good to hear from you though. How've things been on your side? If you use a chat program it'd be nice to 'talk'.
