Kitty + 42
Apr. 20th, 2005 02:07 am I'm just a bit cross eyed at the moment. Josh and I finished
watching 'Hitchhiker's Guide.... ' Well.... I did at least. He fell
asleep during episode six. It was cool to finally see the whole thing.
I sort of missed it when it was on PBS in the '80's. *shrugs* Now I am
ready for the movie!
Finally some good news with Yum Yum. When I got home tonight she apparently still hadn't eaten today. I think she's leary of the hard food. Anyhow, I opened a pouch of soft 'cut' food and poured a small bit into her bowl. I then let her take a few bites of that before removing it for an hour so that she wouldn't gorge and vomit. Then I made sure she had a small drink of water.
That seemed to sit well and I repeated that at one hour intervals up til now. 2 a.m. She just finished the last few bites of her food and had a bit more water to go with it. I put the sisters into the bathroom for the remainder of the night. So, if Yum Yum hasn't been vomitting when I wake in about seven hours, then I'll feed her lightly again. If we can keep her from eating too much at once, we should be ok. *crosses fingers and hopes like hell* If not then I have a vet selected and will take her in immediately.
Obviously, the thing that scares me is the outright cost if she were to need expensive medical care. *sighs sadly* I don't know what we'd do. I can't afford hundreds of dollars in vet bills nor would I want to lose her. I wish I had an answer if it comes to this. -_-
In other matters, I typed up a resume so I have something to give the guy at Home Depot tomorrow. It'd be nice if I can manage to land something in the $15 an hour range. Anything higher would be an improvement over Circuit City. I'll keep looking though. *nods*
My work schedule for next week is a duplicate of this week. So I will be off work on Friday and Saturday. *shrugs* I'm hoping that I'll get to see Sam on Sunday evening perhaps. He's been vacationing in Mexico this week and seems to be having a good time of it. He'll be returning on Friday. Other than that, I guess I'm pretty 'free' for the weekend and am open to suggestions if anyone near by wants to hang out.
Time for bed!

P.S. Pat, I am VERY concerned about the kitty too. I am hoping like hell that she expelled all the 'grass'. There have been no signs of it since Sunday, which was when she vomitted a large 'ball' of it. She doesn't exhibit any signs of pain and is active and friendly.... just.... hungry now. Too hungry for her own good though yesterday. She kept bolting dried food and I think her tummy was still very sensitive. I tried to get her to take saft food yesterday but she wouldn't. Here's hoping and praying for the best.
