I'm tired and worn down. Today started out fine and things seemed to be going alright. I went for the second part of the interview in which I prove that I'm enough of an idiot to desire retail. From there, which occupied 2 1/2 hours, I went down to Poughkeepsie.

Once more back at the house and I got most of the remaining things that I wanted. I figured, one more trip on Saturday, before Jeff arrives and I'd have it all. Silly me..... on the way home tonight I wrecked the car! I don't even know how it happened, one moment, driving along. Next moment; bouncing off the car next to me. *growls* He was relatively well off and drove off after filing the accident report. Me.... I had to be towed. $225 bucks to get the car back to the apartment and it took four hours.

Basically, the front passenger side looks like it was run over. The cowl and headlight area are fucked and the wheel is bent. To top it off the rim cracked and threw out a chunk of itself. *sighs sadly* I was just about out of money before this happened, now it'll be a scramble to figure out how to make it to the end of the month. If any one wants to know, this is my first accident in about fifteen years. Or, about 300K miles of driving. So I suppose the odds do catch one up eventually. But why now???

The insurance will cover all but $500 of the repair and will also cover car rental, but I'm afraid I'll need a wonking ass huge deposit or a credit card. *sighs twice more* If I have to put it on a credit card then the earliest I could rent the car would be Tuesday. I still don't have a bank account up here and the one in Poughkeepsie, for all intents, is closed.

I hate to make this a blatant plea, but if anyone can spare even the tiniest amount to help us out, I'd be very appreciative of it. This is almost the worst time it could have happened. If there are any 'fans' of Harmony Kingdom boxes, or someone looking for a hard to find Charles De Lint novel, I may be interested in selling them to you. *shrugs* They are only things after all, and I have people who count on me. Even if one of them is a bit .... preening. ^_^

So, all you netizens out there.... SEND CASH NOW!

Well, that was an interesting hour. I went out and checked my messages and there was a call from the insurance company. They will cover the rental and re-imburse the towing as part of the repair process. Beyond that it looks like the hardest part will be getting the rental. *shrugs* I wish I had better credit though. Because I don't have a credit card that has an 'open' amount, I have to provide a crap load of documents. Unfortunately they aren't ones I'm likely to get anytime soon: a local utility bill, a liscense with my local address and a pay stub with the same local address.

Erf.... I must be desperate, I just asked my brother if he could spare $500 to help with the car repair. I don't honestly think that will happen, but it never hurts. I also plan to let Virginia know what happened and probably end up begging her for any help she could give. I'm still very worried about getting the deductible paid. It seems like I keep racking up debt faster than I could ever hope to repay it.
