The moving day +1
Jan. 31st, 2005 04:47 pm Alrighty.... Yesterday, which lasted just over twenty four hours
of wakefulness was hell. Not just for me but for all involved. The
first part of our 'joy' was the appliances. Most particularly the
fridge. *shudders* That effing thing took almost eight hours on
its own to load and unload from the damned truck. We left here by three
in the afternoon and based on loading times I figured that we could be
back here by ten at the latest. I didn't count on having to remove the
doors from the fridge just to get it into the apartment.
We finally got the bastard in and got back to the house in Poughkeepsie by one in the morning. Everyone was pissed that we still had the truck to reload and a return trip to make to the apartment. It was five by the time we had reached the apartment and just before seven by the time I dropped off the truck. *sighs* Then it was back to Poughkeepsie and we got here a few minutes before nine.
Well, this afternoon I'm awake and waiting for Chuck to wake up and help him move stuff over to his apartment. Once we move his things over then I'll come back here and load up before heading back to the apartment to spend the night and help organize shit. Build shelves, things like that.
I promised our landlord that I'd get the utilities switched over to my name by the end of tomorrow so I know I'll have to do that fairly early in the day before heading back here to relaod again. I'm not even really sure what to take and what to leave. The 'knee jerk' reaction is to take everything, but that isn't looking too likely. Beyond that, there's what Jeff plans to take next weekend. -_- I will probably regret some of my choices but I can see the writing clearly and I doubt I'll have much real choice.
So, that's where we stand. Just a few more visits and I'll be moved in to the apartment. I don't know when I'll have internet at home again but I'm going to try to keep in touch from work and so on.
*hugs everyone*
