At the last minute this evening I got a call back from a guy who I'd left a message for. So in the morning I'm going to have two places to look at with Chuck.  I'm happy that at least some of us will be sticking together to make things work. *sighs* I wish it were some other way though. I'm going to miss this house. My biggest fear is that whoever buys it will demolish rather than repair it.

So this second place looks like it might turn into a chance for me to own a home in my own name. The owner was telling me that they'd be willing to hold the mortgage and let me pay it. I'd rather work toward owning something than just paying it off.

Houses....

Chuck and I went out to look at a couple of houses today. The first was a three story early '20s with some craftsman detail. While it was in good repair and nicely finished inside, the owner/landlord came across as an ass. We were less than inclined to rent from him but I still filled out the paperwork. The other down side of that property was that it was in the front yard of a contracting business. In one word... noisy.

The second house we looked at was a one story late '50s ranch located at the end of a cul de sac backed up against a wooded area. Though the house is small, it would be an opportunity to build equity as the owner is looking for a rent/sell scenario. So far, this looks like the better option.

Personally, I liked it as the land though in need of some TLC was interesting and varied and the whole place was very private. I'm not going to have to worry about neighbours peering into my windows at all hours or cars driving by on a busy road.

Well, back to the grindstone for me.

*hugs everyone*
