A busy day
Aug. 6th, 2004 10:36 amOr two, actually.
The day started mildy enough with getting Kim to work. Josh followed soon after that. As he was to have been at work by noon.
I had a pretty good chat with Grizz before starting out on my day and he intro'd me to
aragorn_wolf who is this really nice guy from Atlanta.
I spent my afternoon running around on errands for mom. Mostly going to the farm market and spending way too much money on fresh greens. For our health, right?
Back home again and I installed a new light switch in the kitchen.Which, I'm sad to say, won't do what I want it to. However, I can now turn on the kitchen light from my bedroom. ^_^
I needed to take Josh for an appointment in the early evening and while he was doing that I got a bite to eat and a haircut. That was an odd experience; the haircut. I'd gone in and was told of a fifteen minute wait. I sat reading a magazine when I was called by name.
I said yes, I was Mark. Then asked how they knew that since I hadn't given my name. I was told they had an appointment booked for a 'Mark' for the time I was there. *blinks* Anyway, the other Mark never showed up.
The haircut was pretty good. Afterward I went back to pick up Josh. It was a very lovely night. It was the prequel to a drying trend that gave us a beautiful morning. As the sun set last night it sent its light beneath layers of heavy grey clouds creating something I've heard called Elflight.
A light that has a golden, syrupy quality. You can almost imagine it flowing over the countryside.
So it was back to home and a few more chores before settling down for a longer chat with Aragorn. He's a nice guy, as I said before. Funny, a bit quiet, thoughtful.
Around midnight Josh came to get me and tell me that Pumpkin had dashed throught the screen in the living room, climbed the nearby tree and become stuck. I went out and Pumpkin was looking down from amid the branches and mewing piteously. *sighs* I eventually coaxed her out of the branches by using a long stick to unhook her claws from the bark.
When she was finally down in my arms I could feel her heart racing.
Josh and I went down to the river after that. A quiet hour of talking and munching french fries before heading home and going to bed around 1.30 in the morning.
A long day.
*hugs everyone*
